Appointment Preparation and Procedures

Proper preparation is key to ensuring the effectiveness of pest control treatments. Here are some detailed guidelines to help you get ready for your appointment, based on the type of service scheduled.
Inspection Preparation
- Clear the Area: For termite or pest inspections, move furniture and items around 2 feet away from baseboards to provide clear visibility.
- Tidy Up: Remove excess clutter to allow easy access to areas that may need close inspection.
- Secure Pets: Keep pets in a safe and enclosed area to prevent them from interfering with the inspection.
- Provide Access: Ensure technicians have clear access to attics, crawl spaces, garages, and basements.
General Pest Control Preparation
- Clean Before Service: Sweep, vacuum, or mop your floors before the appointment to maximize chemical effectiveness. Mopping too soon afterwards will dilute the chemical barrier
- Avoid Post-Service Cleaning: Refrain from mopping or heavily cleaning treated areas for at least 24 hours to avoid diluting the product.
- Pet Safety: Keep pets away from treated areas until the product has dried completely. Prevent pets from licking treated surfaces.
- Tripping Hazards: Clear pathways of clutter or obstacles to ensure technician safety.
Rodent Control Preparation
- Food and Waste Management: Store food in sealed containers and remove accessible crumbs and garbage.
- Seal Entry Points: Identify and close any small holes or gaps where rodents may enter.
- Safety Precautions: Keep pets and children away from bait stations or traps to prevent accidental contact.
- Provide Access: Technicians may need access to wall voids, crawl spaces, or attics, so ensure clear access.
Fogging Preparation (Roaches, Bed Bugs, etc.)
- Vacate the Premises: All occupants, including pets, must leave the home for the duration of the fogging and remain out for the recommended time.
- Cover and Protect: Wrap sensitive items, electronics, and food in plastic bags or airtight containers.
- Remove Exposed Items: Remove uncovered food, pet bowls, and children’s toys.
- Bag up Clothing and Bedding: use black trash bags to store fabric items before fogging and wash after.
- Ventilation: After the service, follow technician instructions for ventilating the space before re-entry.
- You will be given a full preparation checklist before we fog with more detailed directions
Weed Control Preparation
- Pre-Emergent Application: Expect a blue dye marking treated areas; this will fade over time.
- Watering Instructions: Water the area within 24 hours to activate the product and ensure soil penetration.
General Safety Tips
- Secure Pets and Children: Keep pets and children away from treated areas, traps, or baits.
- Communicate Concerns: Inform your technician of any health concerns, sensitive areas, or specific issues before the service.
- Use Good Judgment: Always follow general safety instructions to ensure a safe and effective pest control service.
